4/6/07: Prayer request for Laura and her daughter Kristie. Laura is instrumental in building a wolf website to inform us of what's ahead with wolf introduction.

"Many of you probably don't know yet but our daughter Kristie was hurt Monday evening while during chores.  She was kicked pretty hard in her right eye by a flighty mare. A UNM surgical team reconstructed her upper right face thankfully I did not have to see her with the face the way it was, I don't know if I could have been OK about that.  The eye surgeons were unable to save her right eye although they were able to keep it intact and it should heal, it had normal pressure yesterday but she could see no light during the test.  We are told she has lost the eye but that in itself was a real blessing since it took the impact that would have given her a traumatic brain injury and there is no sign of brain injury at all. The eye will probably be removed and a prosthetic will be needed eventually but we are not too concerned about anything but the healing part at the moment.  She is at Matt's brother Don's house here in Corrales and doing OK now but in pretty fair pain.  So if you all will add her to your prayers so that she heals swiftly and has good spirits despite her pain and worries I would appreciate it. I just didn't want you all to hear it through the grapevine.  And That is one of the reasons I have been inactive in the past few days although, I have been out of commission in the past couple weeks due to our neighbors heart attack as well.  Everybody out there take care OK, I don't think I can take another serious health or injury issue.  Laurie"

Prayer Request: Please pray for Jim Foley. His wife Marcie passed away Thursday. Jim sent these verses regarding Marcie: "Mt. 25:21 Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Re 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Marcie helped us at KBC with online technical advice, and was very instrumental in supporting the mining community. 4/1/07

12/24/06 In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet
   Matthew 2:9
¶ When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

12/23/06 For unto you is born this day Luke 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go  even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

12/22/06 Wise Men Still Seek Him Matthew 2:1 ¶   Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2    Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
Thank you Jim Foley for sending the verse.

Merry Christmas, Everyone! from Marcie Foley

Hi Everyone – Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, from Marcie and Jim Foley, posted 12/8/06, "Thanks for your prayers, they really help in ways no one would believe."

Have a Happy Thanksgiving! "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of [our] lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased." Hebrews 13:15-16

Pray for the elections and vote. HERE for Presidential Prayer Team.

10/29/06: Ray and Joyce also send you their heartfelt thanks for the awesome and powerful prayers that got him through surgery and safely home, and are keeping Joyce's strength up for the daily tasks, which now include helping Ray recover.
10/15/06: Friends,     My dear friends, Ray and Joyce, have sure been 'through the mill' in the past five years. Details are too long to go into, but Ray was admitted to the hospital in Columbus, Ohio, early this morning with blocked bowels and it looks like another surgery for him.   He's in his mid-seventies and has already endured so many major surgeries. Joyce is asking for your prayers. Please pray for them both and extend this request to your prayer lists. Please turn those 'prayer laser beams' on Columbus, Ohio, where Ray is in the hospital awaiting surgery. I just emailed Joyce and told her,     "Prayer warriors will soon be in full swing!"       Please accept my thanks and theirs, from the Amish country of west-central Ohio (where there were flurries in the air Thursday, but not where they're shoveling the white stuff!). Please also pray for all those impacted by the record snowfall in and near Buffalo, New York.     Julie Smithson

Happy Easter

4/16/06, EASTER: Matthew 28:6  "He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."

4/9/06, Thank you Foleys for today's prayer scripture:
1Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8 ¶ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 ¶ But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

4/4/06 A few lines from “It All Started With The Promise Of A Better Life”  by Rudy Hiley, submitted for KBC

4/2/06: Thank you Marcie Foley for sharing this verse:
Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

The Way of Love  1 Corinthians 13 -- 1/15/06
13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned,  but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

12/7/05 Prayer Request sent to us by Julie Smithson:  Our friend Bob Fanning in Montana needs our prayers and those of our fellow prayer warriors as he surmounts another hurdle in life. He loves God and has given his life and trust to Him, but is asking us for our prayers. Bob's prayer this evening is, "In Jesus Holy Name and Sacred Heart I pray for His peace and mercy, and thank Him for His sacrifice that gave me my salvation, Amen."
Thank you in advance, dear Lord; Bob prays for others regularly and does not often ask for anything for himself.
Other prayers are needed for Nancy and Gregg in California, for JFL in Virginia, for Kay in South Carolina, for Marcia and her Jim in Oregon, for Bo Thott in Maine, and a young man in California who has been told he has terminal melanoma. Thank you, God, for hearing our prayers as they lift in faith to You for Your kind acknowledgement and attention. We trust you implicitly!
God, you know our hearts better than we ever will; You knew us before our mothers did. Thank you for the gift You gave us of Your Son's Life -- and then His Resurrection -- to give us eternal life everlasting.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.
Rom 12:1
We need to be willing to offer ourselves to God and allow the Holy Sprit to expose what He wants in each of us. Because we are "living", we can get up off the altar anytime we want. Only by our continual choice do we choose to stay there.
Think of all Job went through: loss of his wealth, children, health, etc. Yet he could say, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him." (Job 13:15) He knew that God would be faithful to His promises no matter what he, himself, saw or felt. We can always trust Him, knowing He is working out His purposes in our lives in His Way.
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if [there be any] wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:23-24)

The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama.

Judge Moore was recently sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama.

America the Beautiful, or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims' pride; I'm glad they'll never see.
Babies piled in dumpster's, Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty; your house is on the sand.
Our children wander aimlessly poisoned by cocaine,
Choosing to indulge their lusts, when God has said abstain.
From sea to shining sea, our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love and a need to always pray.
We've kept God in our temples, how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool, and Heaven is His throne.
We've voted in a government that's rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges who throw reason out the door,
Too soft to place a killer in a well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby before he leaves the womb.
You think that God's not angry, that our land's a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait before His judgment comes?
How are we to face our God, from Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do, but stem this evil tide?
If we who are His children, will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face and mend our evil way:
Then God will hear from Heaven and forgive us of our sins,
He'll heal our sickly land and those who live within.
But, America the Beautiful, if you don't - then you will see,
A sad but Holy God withdraw His hand from Thee.

~Judge Roy Moore

Please pray for Judge Moore. He has stood firm and needs our support

March 21, 2005, Mike Connelly,  From KBC discussion forum regarding the Chadwick session last week, "Matthew 5:44 is where I get my guidance here: "Love your enemy, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you." Jesus simply couldn't be any clearer about how we are supposed to respond in situations like these."

March 21, 2005
Dear Father of heaven and earth,
You told us in your Word (Psalms l07:35), "He turns a wilderness into pools
of water,
     And dry land into watersprings."
And Father, this is our prayer--that you would do exactly what you promised,
for the honor and glory of God.
We don't deserve that you should answer our prayer but we ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
     Amen.

Blasting into Christmas, by Daniel Webster, Pioneer Press, 12/31/04 "Christmas is the moment in time when God and our human reality collided. The universe has never been the same since. It's a concept that simple
country folks understand and children can grasp."

We at KBC wish you God's peace and love---
this Christmas and for all time
On this day the son of God was borne
in a stinky old manger.
God gave us the greatest gift, his only son
to be borne to common folks.
He lived for us and died for us
so we could live in his peace and freedom
Peace knowing that every bad deed and every bad thought
is forgiven by the sacrifice of His blood.
His greatest command for us is to LOVE
He gave us life
Freedom to live and believe and love and vote and farm
No gift matters...no gift at all
If we don't give away the love our creator gave to us.
Call Mom, invite a lonely soul for dinner, forgive a meany
God has given us farmers plenty of meanies to forgive!
And
Merry Christmas from KBC

 A LOGGER'S PRAYER

Dear Lord,

In these troubled times, when each new day brings yet another threat to our survival as a people, help me keep my faith; faith in my Creator, faith in my country, and faith in my heritage.

There are those who would take these things from me through ignorance, arrogance or indifference. Words like; "Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness" ring hollow when all that you have is sacrificed on the pagan alter of species protection.

Give me wisdom to understand; tolerance so that I may not learn to hate; strength to stand firm in my convictions and perseverance to endure the hardships levied upon me.

Awaken the minds and hearts of those in high places that they may be touched with reason, moved with compassion and directed toward truth, for we are all brothers and share the responsibility for the future of our world.

Amen

On Thanksgiving by a KBC editor,

For us Klamath Basin farmers and ranchers, we mustn't forget to thank our God whom we pleaded with for irrigation water in 2001. We prayed for sound science. We prayed for irrigation water to be restored to our farms, refuges, parks and cemeteries. We prayed that this once-lake would at least be given enough water to restore our dried-up domestic wells and keep alive the baby birds in the dry ditches and canals. We prayed for peace of mind for our elderly veterans who were betrayed by their government and country that they fought to defend and farmed to feed. We prayed for our schools, and for the Hispanic farm workers who left homeless and jobless. We prayed like never before.

A day doesn't go by that we don't live the aftermath of 2001. The green fields in the spring, those delicate little sprouts, have never looked so gentle and alive. The golden hue of grain harvest has never been so golden. The smells of onions and garlic and potatoes in the fall, we will never take them for granted. When we listen to the frogs in the canals at night, see the full moon in a crystal-clear sky, hear our elderly veteran neighbors visit and laugh and talk about the crops, we cherish these things, almost afraid to believe they are true. In 2001 they weren’t true. Skies were filled with dust. Fields were bare. All was silent, our 'Silent Spring', except for the elderly crying, along with their children and their children. And many of our neighbors had auctions and had to move away.

Our God brought us another day. He brought us peer-reviewed science, although government agencies are ignoring it and forcing us to give them our water regardless of the science. But at least the truth is out, and it belongs to us. We could sit home and hope the world hears it and sees it, but that didn't work before.

God has brought us the realization that if we want the truth regarding our lives, our people, our crops, our wildlife, our hydrology, our science, to be known, the task is ours. This week alone people have written dozens of untrue newspaper and magazine articles regarding us irrigators. What do we do about it?

Take for instance a farmer I know. He is just one example of many unsung heroes who has helped to get water restored to our farms and refuges and worked diligently to restore our small broken farm communities.

He was a family man and still tries to be. Family and farming and fishing are his love. His life now consists of attending meetings many times a week, and sometimes many times a day. There are meetings on how to defend his farm from power companies who can make more money on his water for power than they can make with him farming, meetings on how to deal with the tribal and environmental and legal demands and a 100,000 acre feet of water mandatory downsize (called water bank) of our irrigation water, meetings on farming practices to benefit wildlife and farmland which provides feed for millions of waterfowl in our fields, and meetings on how to more efficiently irrigate our fields. ‘Environmentalists’ interview him pretending they want to learn, then turn around and write untrue articles about him. Farmers need him to help plan videos and stories and hearings to get the truth to the misinformed world. When he's on his tractor, his cell phone is ringing constantly from newspaper reporters, representatives, magazine editors, along with other farmers and ranchers who are trying to save their family farms. He helped start a foundation to give money to the needy and to educational purposes. He supported this and other informational Klamath websites. His farms and family life have suffered. Thank you Rob Crawford for your sacrifices. And he is only one of the many many farmers and ranchers and local businesspeople who have given up so much to help so many. When they see this water war and spiritual battle all over America, it fuels their determination to save these freedoms that their fathers fought to defend.

They have watched ‘environmentalists’ break Oregon and much of the West. With farms being regulated out of existence and their water stolen, unemployment has soared and wildlife has died. With the extermination of logging, Oregon has the highest unemployment in America, and more spotted owl habitat has burned up than ever was disturbed by timber harvest. Facts and real science are being ignored.

Our enemies are enemies of rural dwellers who, in their estimation, destroy our world with human presence. They are like a cancer, invading America is ways that are hidden until it is too late. Klamath Basin 2001.
We have two things that our enemies don't have. We don't have the tax-exempt funds. We don't have any government-agency-hired agenda-driven scientists. We don't own the national media. And we don't have government-funded attorneys at taxpayer’s expense.

But we have more.

We have truth.

And we have God.

Thank you God for another day, living side by side with the deer and geese and bunnies and fish and frogs and hard-working neighbors, like we have for a century.

Thank you for hearing our cries. For giving us representatives who see the truth. For giving us men and women who have devoted their lives to telling the truth, to saving our communities, and to saving our family farms and our American freedoms.

Thank you for promising that the truth will set us free.

For you who have so faithfully supported the Klamath farmers and ranchers, please keep supporting people, organizations, and media who have devoted their lives to defending America on the home front.

And please keep praying for the Robs and Mikes and Chris's and Patsys and Daves and Johns and hundreds more heroes. They need your prayers.

Thanksgiving may be the official day of thanks,
but we give thanks each and every day for the multitude of blessings we receive.

Throughout the days and years of our lives, God gifts us with opportunities.
Sometimes we hear them knocking and we answer the call; other times we're too busy with other things and miss them.
Either way, God loves us so very much (more than any words can convey) and is there for us, if we but let Him in when He knocks.
Thank you, God, for this Thanksgiving Day and for that most holy of all Birthday Celebrations next month, for Your Son, who is the Reason for the Season.
Julie and Wiggles and the behind the scenes worker of website miracles, Gerry, whose efforts we all are grateful for!
We'll be spending Thanksgiving with family and friends, keeping you in our prayers that your travels be safe and your turkey delicious!

11/22/04 Please pray for Niilo Hyytinen, longtime Tulelake resident who lives in Reno.  He fell from a ladder and broke his arm and arm socket. He and Elene need your prayers.

Spiritual Defiance by Rudy Hiley

November 22, 2004

The quest for understanding based on opinion, under girded by fear, defies logic, taints conclusions, effects outcome and brings chaos.

The untainted scientific pursuit of reason challenges things errant and mysterious, leads to realistic conclusions, supplants fear with rationale, provides relevant direction and dispels chaos.

Faith redefines both fate and destiny, accelerates hope, overcomes weakness, fortifies the mind and provides peace in times of trouble, and ever so importantly identifies the true source of chaos. That is as long our faith is based on God through Christ, and our lives on His.

What the world refers to as religious denial in the face of doom (real or contrived), the Christian knows as Spiritual Defiance. Spiritual Defiance to the temporal state of things leads to unquantifiable hope, which is likely reckoned by God to be an aspect of that most precious of all things called Faith. The sort of Faith that can move mountains, overshadow evil and lead to the salvation of our very souls!

Let the Faithful then pray to God, through Christ Jesus for good science from balanced scientists, who seek sensible and defensible answers, instead of accusatory questions. Pray that political science, social science and science fiction be overcome by truth. Above all though, pray that His Kingdom come and His Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven, etc. Please pray the LORD’S Prayer in a holy manner that reverences its power, and not in such a way that reduces it to meaningless repetition.

Pray, because emotion and agenda do not supplant science and science does not supplant faith, unless we permit it. He told us to pray, so pray. Don’t accept mankind’s fear, fiction or fate as your own. Pray instead as if the whole world depends on it. If we have the sort of faith that arises from untainted spiritual defiance, we will know with absolute eternal certainty that it does.

Rudy Hiley

11/14/04  John 18:37,  Jesus answered, "You say rightly that I am a king.  For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth.  Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."

NOTE FROM KBC: It's been raining and snowing intermittently in the Klamath Basin for 2 weeks.  Hundreds of acres of potatoes, onions and horseradish are still in the ground, too muddy to harvest. Please pray for your American farmers. Thank you.

10/30/03 Matthew 7: 24-27.  Jesus spoke, "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.  The rain came down, they streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.  But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.  The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."

10/24,2004  Patricia Neville asked us to pray for her as she has a facial sore that appears to be cancerous.  Her operation will be in November.

10/10/04  St. Mark 11:25: "And when you stand praying, forgive, if you have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 11:26: But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."

We all have had some pretty heavy burdens of anger and blame after our community was decimated in 2001, even though the science said that the government actions were not justified. And the science says that the continued actions of downsizing irrigated agriculture in the basin are not justified, yet we are living in this agenda-driven nightmare that doesn't seem to end.

Jesus tells us to forgive....commands us to forgive....so he can forgive us. He died so he could forgive us, so he's pretty serious about this. It's time we ask Him to take away our unforgiveness so we can be forgiven for all the crummy stuff we have done and said and thought. It isn't easy when we have been hurt and betrayed, but we must let it go. It doesn't mean that we have to allow people to do it again, but, the peace of forgiving others and also being forgiven allows us to move forward in doing God's will.

10/3/04 Pray for our Commander in Chief, President Bush. He daily, hourly, every moment, must make life and death decisions regarding our American people and people all over the world. He prays for God's guidance. We need to pray for our God to guide him in everything he says and does.  God created this universe and our planet earth, us and our families, the sun and moon and stars. Give God the praise and the faith that he will guide us and our President in the coming days. And continue to ask for HIS guidance in our daily lives to show us what path to take in defending American agriculture to keep our country free and fed.

8/8/04  Luke 14:11 " 'For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted'
Then He also said to him who invited Him, 'When you give a dinner or a supper, do not ask your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid.  But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind.  And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.' PSALM 43

Prayer to God in Time of Trouble

Vindicate me, O God
And plead my cause against an ungodly nation;
Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!

For You are the God of my strength; "Why do You cast me off?
Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill
And to Your tabernacle.

Then I will go to the altar of God,
To God my exceeding joy;
And on the harp I will praise You,
Oh God, my God.

Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.
