Bob Woodman, 56, of Tulelake, passed away on Feb. 15, 2007, in Hiouchi, Calif.

At the time of his death, he was doing what he loved most - fishing on the Smith River.

Bob was born in Klamath Falls, Ore., on March 16, 1950. He grew up in Tulelake and married Velma Carpenter on April 26, 1969, in Tulelake.

After serving in the Army during the Vietnam era, he returned to the family farm, which he later took over. Another strong working attribute of his was building race car engines.

He loved his family; they were his top priority. He was always willing to help anyone and would do anything to make people laugh.

He enjoyed cigars, NASCAR, shooting guns and, of course, fishing on the Smith River.

Bob is survived by his wife Velma Woodman of Tulelake; daughter and son-in-law Vicki and Chris Meyer of Tangent, Ore.; granddaughters Lexi and Cami Meyer of Tangent; parents J.D. and Barbara Woodman of Klamath Falls; sister Sandy Woodman of Klamath Falls; brother and sister-in-law James and Susan Woodman Jr. of Ogden, Utah; several other brothers and sisters-in-law; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Also his special little canine buddy Buster.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Del Norte Search and Rescue, Attn.: Del Norte County Sheriff's Department, 650 5th St., Crescent City, CA 95531.

Memorial services and Celebration of Life will be held at the Tulelake-Butte Valley Fairgrounds, Home Ec. Building, at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25.
