Related - David Vogel, fisheries scientist now with nearly 50 years experience, 14 working for U.S. Fish and wildlife Service: "In 1986 the U.S. F&W Service staff responsible for whether or not to pursue these (ESA) listings believed there were only 12,000 Lost River suckers in the Upper Klamath Lake...they didn't believe they were endangered. A couple years later...we now know for a fact that numbers were exceeded by tens of thousands of Lost River suckers. Now they flip flop and they say they are endangered? What constitutes endangered?" * Simplified 3-page letter to Siskiyou County legal counsel Thomas P Guarino from scientist Stephen Koshy on catastrophic Klamath dam collapse. Koshy called and explained to KBC News that there will be a catastrophic collapse if Klamath dams are destroyed, costing lives and at least $5 billion to clean up. He sent his detailed warning to the Bureau of Reclamation but they did not respond. 4/15/12.

* We are asked to assume that Coho Salmon are threatened in the Klamath River due to water storage for the Klamath Project
* We are asked to assume that the Northern Spotted Owl is endangered due to man-caused loss of habitat
* We are being asked to assume that the declining numbers of sage grouse are the result of loss of habitat due to cattle grazing.
* we are being asked to cooperate with the regulation of groundwater by the Oregon Water Resources Department based on a regional computer model that can only be described as fraudulent"

The National Research Council meeting was in Sacramento on 2/13/06.  They are going to peer review Reclamation’s NFS and then Hardy II with NFS plugged in.  They will be meeting in Klamath Falls on May 2 and July 25.

10/12/06 Last week the National Research Council met in Yreka to listen to input on Klamath River, tributaries, flows, power from dams, and fish habitat. They are reviewing Dr Hardy's final phase II report and the Bureau of Reclamation Natural Flow Study.
