travels. Of special interest are several shot in the Paisley area -
one shows veterinarian Rich Long riding on a cattle drive at the ZX
Ranch, while others feature Paisley saddlemaker Len Babb, ZX rancher
Martin Murphy and ranch manager Dick Mecham.

Reading
up "Grit, Guts and Glory: Portrait of the
West," compiled and edited by C.J. Hadley, is
$39.95 hardback. It is not available in
paperback. Hadley, the editor of Range
Magazine, will be honored in January as
Westerner of the Year by the Western Ranchers
Beef Cooperative. Copies of "Grit" are
available from Larry Turner at 723-6041.

The highly praised recently released book
"The Romance and Reality of Ranching", published by Range Magazine and
Purple Coyote Corporation, in addition to the coffee table book "Shasta
Reflections", are now available.
Malin photographer/writer Larry Turner
is featured in both books. A Turner photography exhibit will accompany
the Ross Ragland event. The exhibit continues through January 4, 2004.
"Shasta Reflections" is a stunning photographic essay by Turner,
Jane English and John Jackson, accompanied by the writings of Renee
Casterline. Several Klamath Basin characters, including Tulelake-Butte
Valley Fair director Cindy Wright, are featured in the books writings.
Range Magazine publisher C.J. Hadley compiled and edited the
ranching book.
At the book signing, Turner will also have available the 2004
Klamath County Calendar.
