Jim Beers, former U.S.
Fish and Wildlife biologist, will talk on a variety of
issues
Wolves, gun control and
private property rights will be among the topics discussed at a
Town Forum Meeting at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 18, at the Butte
Valley Community Center in Dorris, according to a news release.
Jim Beers, who served as a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologist, special agent, refuge manager, will talk on a variety of issues. Part of his focus will be on the status of wolves in the lower 48 states, the potential danger from diseases they carry and “why they are being forced on us.” “Jim will discuss and answer questions about wildlife issues, environmental laws and policies, and many other threats to rural America today,” said Bert Holzhauser, one of the meeting’s organizers.Beers, who lives in Eagan, Minn., has testified before Congress, twice about the loss of millions of dollars of fish and wildlife funds and one opposing the expansion of federal invasive species authority. He also has worked for the Utah Fish and Game Department, Minneapolis Police Department and was a security supervisor in Washington, D.C. Along with wolves, Beers will discuss United Nations Agenda 21, efforts to “destroy local control,” how federal bureaucracies are “assaulting rural America,” the ironies of state and federal agencies in enacting conservation and environmental policies, and the role of gun control, government easements, federal control of lands and waters “and environmental fantasies like native species and native ecosystems in what is happening.”Also speaking will be Holly Swanson, who lives in the Medford area. Her talk will focus on the green agenda, “From the reintroduction of wolves to politically indoctrinating our children.” She is the author of “Training for Treason: The Harmful Agenda Behind Education for Sustainability.”
