Workshops on wolves, livestock and people, through the Working Circle Collaborative, will be offered regionally from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the following locations and dates:

Fort Jones, Friday, Nov. 11 at the Fort Jones Library

Yreka, Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Holiday Inn Express

Ashland, Monday, Nov. 14 at the Holiday Inn Express

Bonanza, Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the Bonanza Community Center

McCloud, Wednesday, Nov. 16 at the McCloud River Mercantile Hotel

The relationship between stockmanship and stewardship will steer discussions about people, wolves and livestock at upcoming workshops in northern California and southern Oregon, according to a news release.

The workshop through the Working Circle Collaborative in Siskiyou County will focus on crafting solutions to benefit livestock producers while reducing large carnivore-livestock conflicts. Presenters will include Working Circle’s Timmothy Kaminski, ranch manager and cow boss, Joe Englehart and wolf specialist Carter Niemeyer.

The workshops are aimed to assist ranchers in four areas, including understanding gray wolves and their behavior; recognizing areas and/or conditions that pose risks to livestock; appropriate scale and solution-based focus on problems and their causes; and management options and stockmanship practice for improving range and livestock production while reducing wolf-livestock conflict.
