Dr. Rykbost to give presentation on Klamath basin nutrient loading
9/21/06 By Katherine Lehman, Greenhorn Grange

All:

...I hope you can make the meeting the third Saturday, Oct. 21. Dr. Kenneth Rykbost has agreed to join us to provide an important presentation we will not have time for under the general subject of Klamath dam removal at our upcoming November conference.

Recently retired following almost twenty years as the Superintendent of OSU's Klamath Experiment Station, Dr. Rykbost will give a presentation on nutrient loading in the upper Klamath basin which shows that phosphorus loading in the upper basin is a natural condition that results from high P content in the volcanic origin of our geological environment. With time for questions, his program should last about 40 minutes.

...Our meeting will be held at Greenhorn Grange in Yreka, starting at 9:45am. We'll conduct a brief business meeting first, then start our program about 10:30am. Please extend an invitation to join us to anyone and everyone in the community that you have contact with, whether the Neighborhood Watch group, folks at KRCE, the R Ranch, the Siskiyou County BOS, etc.

Please let me know which groups or individuals you've contacted, along with approx. numbers of those who plan to attend, so we can be sure we have enough chairs set up, enough cookies, etc.

Thanks, and I hope to see you there!

Kathy
