Our Klamath Basin
Water Crisis
Upholding rural Americans' rights to grow food,
own property, and caretake our wildlife and natural resources.

Dear Mr. Reck
Bureau of Reclamation
Shasta Lake, CA
Fall releases of Trinity R. water at levels greater than
pre-Trinity Dam years, is too risky for a fish kill. It
encourages the Salmon to swim upstream before the rest of
the Klamath R. is cool enough. If the fish all went up the
Trinity, it might be fine, but you know they won’t. Let the
fish wait until the Klamath cools down with the fall air
temperatures. The Chinook will be much safer that way, and
it is what nature would direct if the Bureau didn’t dump
cold water from the Dam.
Best wishes,
Don Meamber
