Put a stop to craziness

In your article about wells going dry, you did not mention the huge wells dug by the state of California. When Tulelake Irrigation District starts pumping those wells, the people north of Stateline Road have well problems.

One man says the water level in his new house well drops 12 inches in a 24-hour period. We had to lower our pump this past week because the water level dropped.

I think the Tulelake Irrigation District and those 31 people who share the $900,000 in taxpayers' money should have to pay for the cost of getting home wells running again.

The environmentalists have been trying to eliminate farming in the Basin. I feel the irrigation district and the 31 people in Oregon are playing into the hands of environmentalists. When they drain all the underground water dry there will be no more farming. Write to the government and put a stop to this craziness.
