M E R R I L L — Proponents of the Klamath Basin Restoration Agreement will have a rally Saturday during the Potato Festival, according to a press release.

Those organizing the rally are expected to urge voters to vote no on Measure 18-80, an advisory measure on Klamath County’s November ballot asking voters whether the county should stop being involved in the KBRA.

The rally will be at 2 p.m at Carleton Farms Scale and Storage at Main Street and Hill Road in Merrill.

   Speakers include:

   Klamath County Commissioner Cheryl Hukill

Cheri Little, a Wood River Valley rancher and director of Upper Klamath Water Users

Karl Wenner, a Klamath Falls surgeon

Cheri Unruh who is from a Malin area farm family

Don Gentry, vice chairman of the Klamath Tribes

A “yes” vote on the measure means the county should cease participating in the KBRA, while a “no” vote means the county should continue to participate.

The measure is advisory and the Klamath County Board of Commissioners are not legally required to abide by its result.
