NEWS RELEASE February 5th 2011 A new, grass roots group has been formed to represent irrigators and other interested citizens initially, to oppose Klamath Irrigation District, (KID), Shasta View Irrigation District and Malin Irrigation District’s Petition in Klamath Circuit Court, seeking to “validate” the KBRA and KHSA,(dam removal). Also to oppose these Districts attempt to “validate” the signing of these two agreements as legal. This new group was formed out of frustration with various irrigation districts and parts of our local government. Their individual views and opinions have been ignored by those that are supposed to represent them. These citizens are voicing their opposition to the KBRA and KHSA by filing a Response to the Klamath Irrigation District Petition, in Klamath County Circuit Court. The name of this group is “CITIZENS PROTECTING RURAL OREGON”, (CPRO). The President is Richard Drazil. Public Information Contact, Al King, 541-331-2369. Treasurer is Maudie Smith. There is a rally and informational presentations scheduled on Tuesday, February 8th at 12:00 noon, in front of the Klamath County Court Building, across from the County Government Center on Main Street, Klamath Falls. |
