Solution to whole dam issue wrong

Montague, Calif. — Well, here it is. Four dollar per gallon fuel for our cars and trucks.
How high will it go? It all depends on how much the Mideast oil-producing nations want to charge us.

What can we do? We need to start producing more of our own oil. We have huge oil reserves in our nation; we just need to drill and get it out of the ground and into our vehicles. Will we do it? No! Will we protect our selves, our economy, our way of life? No! Will we become energy-independent? No!

We are told that solar and wind energy are the answer. Have you tried running you truck on wind power? Why won’t we drill and provide for our energy needs until other energy sources are developed? We need to drill now and provide for our energy needs and stop sending billions and billions of dollars overseas to pay for the oil that we could produce here at home – but that we will not produce.

The environmentalists and the liberals have been able to slow down or stop most of our drilling efforts. They believe that it is bad policy for America to produce adequate amounts of our own oil. They believe in alternative sources of energy – as they call it, eco-friendly energy like wind and solar. We see how well that is working out! They tell us they know best and that it will all work out, trust them.

It is not working out. It is not the time to continue sending American dollars overseas. It is time to start drilling here in America. It is time to bolster our oil industries and create more jobs for Americans.

I believe the blame for our situation can be laid at the feet of liberals and the environmental movement. They stop most of our oil production, tie up in court any new refineries to be built, and now they are even stopping development or use of some of our own clean wind and solar fields and hydroelectric power plants. We need a balanced approach to our energy needs: oil, natural gas, wind, solar, nuclear, coal. It can all be produced cleanly.
None of us want polluted air or fouled water. We do need to produce clean energy.

However, until we have a workable and cost-effective source of energy other than oil, we need to drill and produce our own domestic oil and gas.

The liberals and environmental movement tell us they have a better way. We see the truth now. Their way is not working and it is breaking America down.

Does it seem ironic that in Siskiyou County they want to tear down our dams that produce clean and renewable energy? But don’t worry; they say with the dams down everything will be better. Don’t hold you breath. Their solution to our energy needs is wrong. Their solution to the whole dam issue is wrong.
