Farm families continue to struggle for water

April 11, 2008 Herald and News, Letter to editor by Vaudine Cullins, Alturas
The only connection I have to the Klamath Water Users is my participation in the 2001 Bucket Brigade. My sympathies lie with the farm families who continue to struggle with the uncertainty of their water supply.

I’m suspicious of the motives of groups such as the Riverkeepers, who get their marching orders from sponsors like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Individuals such as Regina Chichizola have no vested interest in the problem nor the solution and don’t seem to care how their actions may harm a family’s ability to make a living.

It seems like a bad idea to remove hydroelectric dams, which furnish clean energy, in order to let precious water run out to sea.
