A statement in the article "Off-Project
irrigator opposes dam removal" in Friday's edition of the
Herald and News requires clarification: Tom Mallams,
off-Project irrigator and president of the Klamath
Off-Project Water Users, opposes dam removal and says he
appreciates his minority position among other stakeholders
who crafted the Klamath Basin Restoration Agreement and
Klamath Hydroelectric Settlement Agreement, as he and
others refuse to give in to special interests seeking a
precedent-setting plan.
Mallams also said he is still friends
with "many" rather than "several" on-Project irrigators
who do not want dam removal or the KBRA implemented.
