PRESS RELEASE:  Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Greg Walden (R-OR) today unveiled a newly redesigned congressional website, which can be accessed by visiting www.walden.house.gov.  The new site features timely updates on developments in the Congress, information on how Walden may be able to help individuals with problems or issues relating to the federal government, a tour request form for folks visiting the nation's capital, a scheduling form to set up a meeting in D.C. to discuss pending legislation and policy issues, a photo gallery, and links to student resources and great information about the federal government and central, southern and eastern Oregon.

"My website is designed to provide Oregonians with as much information as possible on what's taking place around the Second District and in Congress," said Walden.  "It also provides a great tool for Oregonians to contact me about issues that are most important to them by sending me a direct email with their ideas, thoughts and concerns.  Keeping in close touch with the people of central, southern and eastern Oregon is vital to my being able to serve them effectively and my new website is one more way for us to all stay connected.  I hope people will take a moment to visit my new site and see what it has to offer."

The new site also enables Oregonians to sign up for Congressman Walden's e-newsletter, the Oregon Congressional Connection.  Walden's e-newsletter contains information on legislation being addressed in the House, Walden's meetings and events in Oregon and Washington, D.C., and other activities and committee hearings on Capitol Hill.

Walden welcomes Oregonians to share their comments and ideas about issues with him by clicking on the "Email Greg" button at www.walden.house.gov.  His new website is still undergoing some construction and will be updated periodically over the next several weeks.

Congressman Walden represents the Second Congressional District of Oregon, which includes 20 counties in southern, central and eastern Oregon.  He is a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce as well as the Committee on Resources.
