Final Plan for Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuges

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) today released the Final Comprehensive Conservation Plan/Environmental Impact Statement (CCP/EIS) for Lower Klamath, Clear Lake, Tule Lake, Upper Klamath and Bear Valley National Wildlife Refuges.

The Final CCP/EIS is a programmatic plan that describes how the Service proposes to manage the refuges for the next 15 years. The plan also identifies wildlife-dependent recreational opportunities available to the public, including hunting, fishing, wildlife observation, photography, environmental education and interpretation. The Final CCP/EIS was developed after careful consideration of public input received throughout the draft process.

The Final CCP/EIS is available at http://go.usa.gov/x8QmC and may also be viewed Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge Complex, 4009 Hill Road, Tulelake, California. The above website also provides several public library locations where the document is available for viewing.

The Final CCP/EIS will be available during a required 30-day waiting period, which ends January 8, 2017. The Service will then sign the Record of Decision and begin implementing the CCP/EIS.
