PRESS RELEASE
USFWS
Recently, we experienced an interruption in Internet
and e-mail services to
the public. We apologize for any inconvenience this
may have caused.
On March 15, 2004, a Federal Court ordered most
Information Technology
systems within the Department of the Interior to be
disconnected from the
Internet. On March 24, 2004, the U.S. Court of
Appeals granted the
Department's request for a stay pending appeal. We
do not know how long
our systems will remain connected to the Internet.
During the 9 days we were disconnected we were not
able to contact you by
e-mail, our electronic news release service was
disrupted, and our website
was down. We reinitiated these services today.
In the event that we suffer future disruptions to
our email and electronic
news release service, we are asking you to let us
know whether you would
like to receive fax copies and/or mail copies of
news releases. If so,
please e-mail your name, fax number and/or mailing
address to:
Jane_Chorazy@fws.gov or mail the information to:
Jane Chorazy, US Fish and
Wildlife Service, 911 NE 11th Ave, Portland, Oregon,
97232. If you have any
questions, please call us at 503-231-6121.
Please do not reply to this message.
Thank you,
Joan Jewett
Chief, Public Affairs
