Clarence
Herbert (Red) Hall died September 20, 2007 at home at the age
of 79 in Klamath Falls after a 10-year battle with Idiopathic
Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Clarence was born September 19, 1928, at home outside Weiser,
Idaho, to Kessie Murl Hall and Gertie May (McWilliams) Hall.
Clarence's family moved to Oregon in 1933 and his father was
killed in a traffic accident in Klamath Falls in 1934.
Clarence quit school after the eighth grade to work to help
support this family.
Clarence joined the Army at Ford Ord, California on December
3, 1947 and transferred to the newly formed Air Force the next
day He served for nine years until discharged as staff
sergeant on December 11, 1956.
After discharge from the Air Force, Clarence came back to
Oregon with his wife Francis Jean Morris whom he married in
Alexandria, Virginia on June 22, 1951. His son was born in
Topeka, Kansas, in 1953. Clarence worked for Weyerhaeuser
Company at Camp 9 until February 1962 when he went to work on
the Geary Bros. Ranch as ranch foreman until the ranch was
sold to Ruth Teasdale in 1967.
Clarence then went back to work for Weyerhaeuser as foreman
and then superintendent of the Log Sorting Yards. He was
downsized in October of 1981. In March 1983, he went to work
for the U.S. Forest Service at the Chiloquin Ranger District
as equipment operator until his retirement in October 1991.
He married Barbara Kay Johnson on April 30, 1983.
His survivors include his wife Barbara of Klamath Falls; his
son Mark of Eugene; brother Anthony of Klamath Falls; three
grandchildren Tisha Currin and Amy Hall of Klamath Falls and
Marine Lance Cpl. Justin Hall stationed at Twenty-nine Palms,
California; plus three great grandchildren, cousins, nephews
and nieces.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and
one brother.
