Time to Take Action
Our Klamath Basin Water Crisis
Upholding rural Americans' rights to grow food,
own property, and caretake our wildlife and natural resources.

Friends of the Klamath Basin:

TONIGHT, Thursday, June 1, 2006, Coos County Commissioner John Griffith and commercial fishing interests will discuss the impacts to fishermen caused by the curtailment of salmon fishing along 700 miles of coastline in Oregon and California.  Because of the fishery closures and lack of income these individuals are unable to pay moorage, maintain their vessels, pay insurance, make house payments, or even buy groceries.

These individuals have much in common with the farmers and ranchers of the Klamath Basin.  Come listen to their story regarding the crisis they are facing. We will also discuss local efforts to raise money to provide assistance to coastal families this summer.

The forum for this meeting is the Klamath County Natural Resources Advisory Council. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Commissioners Hearing Room 219, Klamath County Government Center Building, 305 Main Street, Klamath Falls.

If you cannot attend the meeting, but would like to extend a helping hand, please contribute to the Klamath Relief Fund. Please make checks payable to:
