Klamath Basin Renewable Energy Conference 2006

HERE for agenda and registration

The Klamath Soil and Water Conservation District in partnership with local business and organizations is presenting the “Klamath Basin Renewable Energy Conference” on November 29, 2006.  This one-day event will be held at the Klamath County Fairgrounds in Klamath Falls, Oregon and will include a catered lunch.  The purpose of the seminar will be to focus on multiple energy possibilities and solutions for landowners.

Among the scheduled events and topics, is a demonstration and production of bio-diesel.  There will be several different panels, discussing the success of community wind farms, on-farm solar power, small low volume hydropower production, bio-fuels and biomass.  As the cost of energy rises, even the smallest of energy improvements on the farm or ranch can result in improving cash flow.

Speakers from private industry, community cooperatives, university research, tribes and government will participate in various presentations, demonstrations and discussions.  To conclude the conference, representatives of several funding agencies and organizations will provide information on grants, loans and tax incentives that are available to assist landowners with project implementation.

Cost of the conference is $15 in advance or $20 at time of registration.  To reserve your spot for the conference please call the KSWCD at 541-883-6932 extension 101.
