Native Grass Seed Production
Environmental restoration activities
nationwide increasingly rely on the
availability of native plant materials.
Planting with native species is critical to
maintaining the biodiversity of plant and
animal communities and protecting
threatened and endangered species from
adverse effects of invasive exotic plant
species. Such plantings are key
components of riparian zone protection,
wetland enhancement, and erosion control.
They provide important soil stabilization
and habitat enhancement features associated
with livestock management, road repair and
decommissioning, post-fire revegetation,
and landslide stabilization.
