Workshop for ranchers will be Jan. 4

An interactive video from the annual Cattleman’s Update
Educational Program will be offered at the Klamath Basin Research
and Extension Center at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4.
The workshop is offered through a partnership with the University
of Nevada Cooperative Extension and will focus on beef cow
management strategies that help ranchers improve their bottom line
while maintaining quality, according to a news release.
Featured speaker
Dr. Tom Geary, a U.S. Department of Agriculture animal scientist,
will be the featured speaker.
Geary will discuss nutritional and reproductive management of beef
cows. Other topics include animal health strategies and range
management to boost profits.
Re-certification
Attending the program will allow producers who are Beef Quality
Assurance Certified in Oregon to be re-certified in the program.
Expanded seating is available this year.
The program will be offered in the KBREC extension auditorium,
3328 Vandenberg Road in Klamath Falls.
A $10 registration fee will include a light lunch and
refreshments. Make a reservation by contacting Chanda Engel or
