Klamath Fish Disease Funding Meeting:  9:00 AM, Jan, 15th, 2008, Medford

The meeting to request fish disease research funding originally scheduled for January 7TH in Eugene has been canceled and re-scheduled for 9:00 AM, Tuesday, January 15, in Medford City Council Chamber 411 West 8th Street, Room 300 (on the third floor)  Best area for parking is in the lot at 100 South Oakdale. at a location to be announced as soon as that location can be confirmed.

Agenda:   This agenda will stay flexible while trying to maintain the primary goal of ending the meeting with an agreement to write, sponsor, and support legislation requesting funding for fish disease research on the Klamath River.  Time is of the essence.

9:00- 9:10       Introductions:  All

9:10 –10:30    Presentation on current disease research, proposed research, proposed budget, and question and answer: Jerri Bartholomew/Scott Foott                                                                                        

10:30 -11:00    Importance of finding answers to diseases and consequences of no action:  Statement and question and answer from:
Farm Community 
Tribal Community
Fishing Community

11:00 – End     Open forum, question and answer, working lunch:

12/29/07: Klamath Common Ground Mission: This group was originally begun with farmers and fishermen. Presently it consists of farmers, fishermen and tribes. One of the goals: "Advocate for a Long Lake conservation water storage project. The water to be dedicated to supply cold, clean water for down-stream main stem Klamath flows." (KBC NOTE: for the past several years, farmers have been advocating Long Lake storage to give them certainty in irrigation water. What's this?)
