Salmon fishing on the Trinity continues

Fishing for adult-sized king salmon has reopened on the Trinity River from Old Lewiston Bridge to the mouth of Indian Creek, the state Department of Fish and Game announced this week. The reopening is a result of the Trinity River Hatchery reaching the 4,800 fall-run king salmon quota needed for spawning.

DFG also determined the adult fall-run king salmon quota at Iron Gate Hatchery on the main stem of the Klamath River has also been met. More than 8,000 kings needed for spawning have moved into the hatchery so Fish and Game officials have reopened the Klamath River to sport fishing from above the Interstate 5 bridge to 3,500 feet below Iron Gate Dam.
