Regarding the meetings
(1/29/08:
PacifiCorp public meeting
in Yreka on Klamath dam relicensing.
Supplimental notification)
-- they are not a forum for public input on whether the AIP is a
good idea or a bad idea, or whether the dams should go or stay. As
you know, we were not involved in the negotiations for either the
KBRSA or the AIP. Nonetheless, the agreement involves matters
under our jurisdiction and can influence our ongoing licensing
proceeding. As a result, we thought it a good idea to meet with
the parties to make sure we understand the Agreement, what is
expected of us, and how this might all play out. We will also
entertain some public comment on procedural aspects of the AIP as
it relates to the relicensing process. |
