Sept 19, 2003 Today was my first walk in months....before 2001 they were daily occurrences. It was like heaven
today, to hear the birds, crickets, quail, and see the bunnies hopping around. It seems like so long ago when
I had time to sit with a cup of tea and read the paper, visit the elderly neighbors, and dance. I used to drive truck
and loved the time I spent in the fields with the soil and plants. Since 2001, my days are filled with
meetings, tours, politics, and trying to show the world on KBC who we are, how we feel, and the facts
of life in the Klamath Basin. But today was an exception. I walked for hours, and as far as I could see,
there were no homes, no fences, no politicians, no pseudo scientists analyzing and condemning
my people. Just me and God and moments of blessed peace.
