Linthicum will sustain fight for rural areas

The Herald and News says the main difference between the two candidates running for State Senate District 28 is their view on water issues. As I see it, the race is partially a referendum on water.

Dennis Linthicum is opposed to the plan to destroy the Klamath River dams. We are told Pacific Corp. is a private entity and it has the right to determine their own future.

I take exception to that view as I have never had any input on dam removal as a Pacific Power rate payer. Have you looked at your Pacific Power bill lately? For years now, I have been charged a surcharge on JC Boyle Dam and Copco Iron Gate dam removal.

The Public Utilities Commission granted Pacific Power a rate increase on the dam removal surcharge effective July 1. I side with Dennis Linthicum — no dam removal.

Dennis has been my neighbor and friend for 20 years. He is a principled person which is a rarity in this day and age. I respect Dennis, who stands by this convictions and doesn’t stick his finger in the air to test which way the wind is blowing.

Dennis is the person I need in Salem to represent me. I urge you to join me in electing Dennis Linthicum the next State Senator for District 28. Dennis Linthicum will continue the legacy to Doug Whitsett and fight for rural Oregon.
