Local, state unemployment rises in November

Sacramento County's unemployment rate in November rose to 8.1 percent, according to state statistics released this morning, up from 7.9 percent in October.

California overall is faring slightly worse. Statewide unemployment hit 8.4 percent in November, up 0.2 percentage points from October, California Employment Development Department statistics show.

Unemployment numbers for other counties in the Sacramento metro region:

• El Dorado, 7.7 percent;

• Placer, 7.6 percent

• Yolo, 9 percent.
