UPDATE:
Natural Resources Committee to Hold Hearing
on Roadblocks to Solar and Wind Production
on Public Lands
WASHINGTON, D.C.
The Committee on Natural Resources oversight
hearing on the American Energy
Initiative: Identifying Roadblocks to Wind
and Solar Energy on Public Lands and Waters
scheduled to meet on Wednesday, May 11,
2011, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 1324 Longworth
House Office Building is rescheduled due to
anticipated House Floor activity on
Committee-reported legislation.
House
Republicans American Energy Initiative is
an effort to increase all types of American
energy production including renewable
energy, said Chairman Doc Hastings.
Wind and solar energy is an integral
part of an all-of-the-above energy approach,
but unfortunately production on public lands
often faces significant obstacles. This
hearing will examine policies and actions,
such as permitting delays, that have blocked
or hindered development of renewable energy
sources on our federal lands and waters.
The hearing is now divided into two parts
and rescheduled for the following days:
