Bureau seeks land bids

The Bureau of Reclamation will accept sealed bids from those who wish to lease 27 parcels, about 4,350 acres, for agricultural purposes.

Bids must be submitted by 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, at the Klamath Basin area office, 6600 Washburn Way, in Klamath Falls.

A public bid opening will be conducted at the office shortly after 10:00 a.m. Bureau officials anticipate that the winning bids will be announced at about 4:30 p.m., March 10.

Lands for lease include:

  • Lower Klamath Federal Lease Lands: Area K, seven grain lots; Area K, one grass hay/pasture lot.
  • Tule Lake Federal Lease Lands: Sump 2, five lots, including one for organic production; Sump 3, 13 lots.
  • Bureau of Reclamation Area Office: Klamath Falls, one five-acre grass hay/pasture lot.

    Bidding instructions, lease information, a sample copy of the lease contract, location maps and bid forms - that must be used in submitting bids - are available at the Klamath Basin area office and the Tulelake Irrigation District headquarters, in Tulelake, California.
