Belding's Ground Squirrel

Belding's ground squirrels inhabit dry upland areas in the Upper Klamath and Tule Lake Basins.  This species is most often seen in farm fields, grass lands and pastures whre it can damage crops as hundreds of squirrels may inhabit a single field.
