www.heraldandnews.com Democratic leaders
damaged the Basin
Herald and News letter to the editor by E. Werner Reschke,
Malin, Oregon, candidate for State Representative 3/30/16
My name is E. Werner Reschke. I am running for state
representative because I believe in the power of the people. The
government’s role is to protect the rights of all its citizens,
not to redistribute wealth for political projects that benefit
the powerful and well connected.
Our community is hurting and needs a liberty-first approach. The
economic and social problems we face are real.
During the 2016 Legislative session, the Democrat leadership in
Salem made damaging decisions that effect our local community.
We live in a remote part of the state. In order to attract more
business and drive greater profitability we need to lower the
cost of living, and lower the cost of doing business, not
increase it.
We should not pay more for electricity, while Democrats with
utopian dreams receive generous campaign contributions from
environmental extremists.
Meanwhile, Oregon and California bureaucrats, far-removed from
our community, are scheming how to eliminate clean, renewable
and affordable hydro-power along the Klamath river.
As your state representative, I will work for an energy policy
that puts common sense and rate-payers first, not special
interests.
I will work for decreasing state regulations on businesses,
farms and ranches to foster greater profitability. I will work
for Oregon’s right to reclaim lands currently controlled by the
federal government. I will work for protecting Oregonians
against state laws that infringe on the Constitution and Bill of
Rights.
Stand with me to end Salem’s arrogance and allow us to live our
lives without their interference.
Klamath Falls and Lakeview should be the beautiful gems of
Oregon. First, we must be free of Salem’s never-ending mandates.
Stand with me for your liberty first. Learn more at
