Move the C.O.B.
The energy
facility would take land out of exclusive farm use.
The land would have to be rezoned for industrial.
We do not want the noise and air pollution in
Langell Valley.
Flash!!! Now that Peoples
Energy of Chicago is proposing that they amend their
application and build their facility as an air
cooled plant which will use 300 gallons of water per
minute instead of 7588 gallons of water per minute,
they will not need access to the Babson well. We
have two suggested solutions:
1. Build their air cooled
energy facility at the old Weyerhaeuser location
near Klamath Falls which is already zoned
for industrial. Access to power lines and gas is
available there and they wouldn't have
to build miles of pipeline for water. It would be
closer to railroad and airport.
or
2. Buy the CoGen facility and solve two problems by
helping the city of Klamath Falls with that
financial problem.
